Installation: The GT Chasing Underglow kit comes with a variety of strip lengths (with more being added with enough popular requests) to better suit your car for a more complete lighting coverage. We recommend measuring for your desired length on a spot that is NOT the lowest point on your car (aka don’t mount these on your side skirt extensions under your side skirts). We’d recommend having the strip facing down for the brightest ground effects, although on your side rail would work too.

The GT Chasing Underglow kit comes with various mounting methods including screw-in clips, zip ties, and double-sided tape. The screws are stainless and will not cause rust, however, it’s always a good idea to add a dab of rust prevention over any holes you make (silicone or undercoating). The double-sided tape is NOT recommended as a stand-alone mounting method and should be used in conjunction with a physical mount such as the clips or zip ties. It simply is there to prevent sag between mounts. For best results with your double-sided tape, thoroughly clean the area with 90% alcohol, removing any dust, dirt, debris, and grease. Heat both the strips and the area on your car so they’re warm to the touch, and apply pressure for at least 30 seconds. The bond will strengthen for 48-72 hours.

Waterproof: Our strips are IP68 rated, completely sealed in clear silicone, and are unable to be removed as you might have with our strips intended for internal headlight use. All connections are also IP68 rated.

Controllers: The GT Chasing Underglow kit was designed to be as simple as possible to install using the sp110e controller, which is waterproof, and comes with battery connection terminals and a physical switch for easy on/off function. After a ton of requests, we were able to make our kit compatible with the Blueghozt controller which adds a TON of functionality including the options for DRL/Parking Light modes, turn signals, as well as being able to edit your show modes if tons of different styles instead of just various colours chasing around your vehicle. The Blueghozt Controller option includes waterproofing (potting), as well as 12v power wires, with DRL, Turn Signal, Reverse & Brake light functions (each optional). Depending on how you plan to run your wires, you MAY BE REQUIRED to extend your power wires.

Wiring Lengths: Each led strip has a 45″ (approx 1.25m) input, and output, with the exception being the rear with only an input. The sp110e controller has 12″ input power wiring, placing your controller near your battery, out of harm’s way (mostly), and 45″ outputs. The Blueghozt controller has a 50″ input power wiring, and 6″ outputs, which might expose it to excess weather conditions depending on your car’s configuration. For this reason we have made optional 45″ extensions if you’d like to be able to place your Blueghozt elsewhere.

Using the sp110e: The sp110e is incredibly easy to use. Turn on Bluetooth services on your phone, connect the controller to power, and within 60 seconds, open the app, and pair your phone within the app by selecting “SP110E”. Make sure your chip type is set to “GRB” & “SK6812” (which it is by default), and press ENTER. It’s that easy. You can explore the app on your own, or find instructions in the top right in the app under the “file/page” icon.

Power Drain: Chasing (formally known as Addressable) LED’s have a naturally occurring power drain, even when turned off through the app. For this reason, the sp110e controller includes a physical on/off switch which will stop the LEDs from draining your battery when they are in “hibernation mode” after being turned off from your phone. Should you fail to turn them off with the switch, depending on the strength of your battery, you could lose enough power within a few days of not driving your car to prevent your car from starting. It is, for this reason, we HIGHLY recommend running the provided switch to an easily accessible location within your cabin to isolate your strips from power. Customers who choose the Blueghozt controller will have to wire in their own physical switch (provided) between the provided fuse, and the Blueghozt controller itself, or pull simply pull the fuse.
